About the Library

The Central Library at AK (PG) College is a hub of knowledge and learning, housing an extensive collection of 50,000+ books covering all academic disciplines. The library is fully automated with a Digital Catalog System (OPAC) for easy searching and locating of resources.

The library subscribes to numerous e-journals, online databases, and digital resources through UGC-INFLIBNET and other consortiums. Separate reading rooms for students and faculty provide a quiet and comfortable environment for study and research. Daily newspapers, weekly magazines, and monthly journals are also available.

The library is managed under the Library Committee chaired by Prof. Sanjay Kumar Yadav (IQAC Coordinator). The Book Bank Scheme is a special initiative where economically weaker students can get textbooks for the entire session by depositing only 10% of the book cost.

Book Bank Scheme

Economically weaker students can get textbooks for the full session by depositing only 10% of the book cost.

Book Bank Scheme (For Economically Weaker Students)

Eligibility: Available for economically weaker students as determined by the college
Deposit: Students deposit 10% of the total cost of textbooks required for the session
Duration: Books are issued for the entire academic session
Return: All books must be returned at the end of the academic session before examinations
Condition: Books must be maintained in good condition; damages will be charged

Library Rules & Regulations

Library Hours: Open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on all working days
Membership: All enrolled students and faculty members are eligible for library membership
Book Issue: Students can issue up to 3 books at a time for a period of 14 days
Renewal: Books can be renewed once if not reserved by another member
Late Fee: ₹1 per day per book for late return beyond the due date
Silence: Strict silence must be maintained in the reading rooms
Mobile Phones: Mobile phones must be kept on silent mode within the library premises
Damage/Loss: Damaged or lost books must be replaced or paid for at current market price
