About the Department
The Department of Sanskrit at AK (PG) College is dedicated to preserving and promoting the ancient language of Sanskrit, which is the foundation of Indian culture, philosophy, and knowledge systems. The department is led by Dr. Mukesh Kumar Gupta, a highly qualified faculty member with M.A., NET, and Ph.D. credentials.
The department offers B.A. (Sanskrit) at the undergraduate level with 60 seats, and Ph.D. (Sanskrit) for advanced research scholars. The curriculum covers Sanskrit literature (Sahitya), grammar (Vyakaran), poetry (Kavya), drama (Natak), and Vedic studies.
Sanskrit, being the language of ancient Indian scriptures, Vedas, Upanishads, and philosophical texts, holds immense importance in understanding India's rich cultural heritage. The department strives to make this knowledge accessible to students.
